Patrushev Interview with Rossiyskaya Gazeta 27 March

Both Sputnik and Ria Novosti published small, conflicting content from this important interview Nikolai Patrushev had today 27 March 2023 with Rossiyskaya Gazeta, so here's the entire thing so there's no confusion:

Have they completely lost their fear? Nikolai Patrushev on the opening tomorrow of the "summit for democracy" under the American flag.

On the eve of the second "summit for democracy" organized by the United States, Ivan Egorov of Rossiyskaya Gazeta spoke with the Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Nikolai Patrushev.

Nikolai Platonovich, on Tuesday the United States will begin the second "summit for democracy", following which, as stated by the State Department, Washington will accelerate the so-called democratic renewal of the world. What do you think about this gathering of American vassals?

Nikolai Patrushev: The "summit for democracy" organized by the current White House staff is certainly held within the framework of the US presidential race that has actually started. It will be another gathering in favor of the world order, where Washington wants to play a central role forever. And dissidents are expected to be labeled "undemocratic states."

Once again, the United States will declare itself a defender of international law, while it will definitely declare that the world should live by its rules. Geopolitical opponents will be accused of knowingly false accusations of war crimes and corruption from the rostrum, but, as usual, they will turn a blind eye to real acts of genocide and financial fraud committed with the approval of the White House. There will be promises to make efforts to feed the starving and release the unjustly convicted from prisons. However, they will keep silent that about a fifth of all prisoners in the world are in American prisons, including those sentenced to several life terms. With particular zeal, they will defend the rights of sexual minorities and impose a "green agenda" on the whole world, exacerbating the energy crisis in satellite countries.

Hypocritically talking about freedom of choice, the United States, which has appointed itself the main dictator of the world, will in fact simply mock countries where sovereignty and people's power are violated by them.

"Washington wants to play a central role forever, and dissidents are expected to be labeled 'undemocratic states.'"

Surely they will repeat that the United States is an example of democracy for all mankind, and the audience, of course, will not want to hear criticism in its address?

Nikolai Patrushev: Of course. After all, the main task of the political regime in the modern United States is to mislead its own population in the conditions of the systemic crisis in which they themselves find themselves.

Their democracy is just a beautiful facade of the state structure, which is designed to hide the disregard for the rights of ordinary Americans. Anyone who has carefully studied the legal and socio-political system of the United States is deprived of illusions about freedom of speech and expression of will in this country. What freedom of opinion can we talk about when even the former president of the United States is not allowed to speak in social networks and the press on topics of interest to society, and the media are the mouthpieces of the largest companies and elite groups.

By paying lip service to competition, the U.S. government has made the country's economy dependent on the corrupt and lobbying ties that stretch to the White House and the Capitol.

The political process has turned into a clash of corporations that place their people in key places in power. They also form foreign policy, strive to maintain international dominance, create hotbeds of tension around the world for their billion-dollar earnings on various contracts, the imaginary transparency of which they themselves control.

Proclaiming democratic slogans in place and out of place, in fact, Washington has long been a champion in violating the sovereignty of states, in the number of wars and conflicts unleashed, in the gross and illegal hunting of citizens of other countries.

If the US really decides to move towards democracy and stops humiliating its allies - vassals, we will only welcome it.

At the summit, we will also hear pathetic speeches about how Kiev, with the support of the "good" NATO, confronts the "universal evil" in the face of Russia?

Nikolai Patrushev: I am sure that this topic will become one of the main ones. In fact, NATO countries are a party to the conflict. They turned Ukraine into one large military camp. They send weapons and ammunition to the Ukrainian troops, provide them with reconnaissance data, including with the help of a satellite constellation and a significant number of unmanned aerial vehicles. NATO instructors and advisers train the Ukrainian military, and mercenaries fight as part of neo-Nazi battalions. Trying to prolong this military confrontation as long as possible, they do not hide their main goal - the defeat of Russia on the battlefield and its further dismemberment.

"In early March, a US strategic bomber practiced a conditional nuclear strike on St. Petersburg from a distance of 200 kilometers."

This line of Washington does not change, because the American elite has never wanted to reconcile with a strong and independent Russia?

Nikolai Patrushev: Right. Since at least 1945, the source of any escalation of tensions on a global scale has been the unrestrained desire of the US authorities to retain a dominant role in the world. As they believe, now they are hindered in this by two great powers: Russia and China. The Russian Federation is not just pursuing an independent policy of strengthening the multipolar world, but in many respects surpasses America in spiritual, moral and military terms. China is the main economic competitor of the United States. Following the attempts to "suppress" Russia, Washington will take up the PRC.

Let me remind you that specific measures to destroy the USSR were approved 75 years ago by the well-known directive of the US National Security Council "Tasks towards Russia". With the collapse of the Soviet Union, the West became euphoric. However, it did not last long, as in Russia they did work on mistakes. Today, our country can ensure not only internal stability, but also the security of its people from external threats.

In early March, a US strategic bomber practiced a conditional nuclear strike on St. Petersburg from a distance of 200 kilometers over the island of Gotland in the Baltic Sea, deliberately provoking an aggravation of tensions. Have they completely lost their fear?

Nikolai Patrushev: For some reason, American politicians who are in captivity of their own propaganda remain confident that in the event of a direct conflict with Russia, the United States is capable of launching a preventive missile strike, after which Russia will no longer be able to respond. This is short-sighted stupidity, and a very dangerous one at that.

Forgetting the lessons of history, some in the West are already talking about revenge, which will lead to a military victory over Russia. We can say one thing about that. Russia is patient and does not intimidate anyone with a military advantage. But it has a modern unique weapon capable of destroying any adversary, including the United States, in the event of a threat to its existence

However, the West is betting not only on military defeat, but also on the economic exhaustion of Russia.

Nikolai Patrushev: Obviously. Under pressure from Washington, many Western companies left the Russian market. However, in the expectation of the collapse of our economy and the growth of protest sentiments, they were seriously mistaken.

In the last decade, the West has been implementing the idea of creating a technological order in which only it should prosper, and the rest of the world is destined for the fate of the periphery of socio-economic development. Therefore, its leaders are furious in connection with The balanced reaction of Russia to the sanctions pressure. Our country irritates the rulers of the United States and Europe with its economic independence, raw material independence, and scientific thought. The Western countries themselves are completely dependent on transnational companies and global economic chains. If, for example, sanctions of the same level were imposed against England or France as against our country, these states would quickly plunge into chaos.

At the same time, Russia is not going to close its economy from the world. It will remain open and will be integrated with the economies of sovereign countries that are worried about their own prosperity, including through cooperation with us.

Clearly, undermining the Russian economy and bleeding the Russian military dry are two sides of the same strategy that the West has been trying to implement for centuries?

Nikolai Patrushev: Of course. One should not naively believe that the methods of economic aggression are softer and more humane. European countries and Japan, for example, have stopped supplying a number of medicines, including vital ones, to Russia. In this respect, Western pharmaceuticals worthily continue the "traditions" of their predecessors. It is well known that most of these same companies at one time worked on the development of poisonous gases and chokes on the order of Nazi Germany. That is, they fully supported the ideology of genocide of the so-called "superfluous" peoples.

Let's remember how the same Anglo-Saxons fed the Nazis in the 1930s, hoping to turn them against the Soviet Union. Having earned financial and geopolitical dividends from the second world war, today Washington and London are once again indulging Nazism and fascism. Using Ukraine, they are not averse to igniting a pan-European or even world conflict, imagining that they can get away with it.

It seems that the collective West is not going to learn from the past.

Nikolai Patrushev: The Western "International" has opposed our country more than once. Sometimes under the banners of the Poles and Swedes, then with Napoleonic eagles, under the British flag or under Hitler's swastika. The result is the same: all attempts to crush Russia are in vain. Unwilling to learn lessons, Westerners get into trouble again and again.

Nor is Washington enthusiastic about the stability in Asia created as a result of World War II and liberation movements. The U.S. Indo-Pacific Strategy is an attempt to create an Asian NATO. The new alliance will become another aggressive bloc directed against China and Russia, and at the same time to pacify the now independent states.

The rearmament of the Australian Navy within the framework of the new AUCUS alliance, including with the supply of nuclear submarines, military support for Taiwan and South Korea have a long-term goal - the establishment of US and NATO dominance over Eurasia from its eastern flank.

"Even during the Cold War, the Pentagon, at the slightest danger from the USSR, was ready to turn Europe into a radioactive desert."

Washington pushed Tokyo to a new militarization. Japan's Self-Defense Forces are becoming a full-fledged army that is capable of conducting offensive operations. This has already been legally confirmed by Japanese law, which in fact is a gross violation of one of the most important results of the Second World War. Betting on strike weapons, Prime Minister Kishida said that his country acquires 400 Tomahawk cruise missiles from the United States.

In addition to arming Japan, Washington is trying to revive the spirit of Japanese militarism, which, it would seem, was eradicated in 1945. It seems that the inhabitants of the island state again want to make kamikazes, dying for other people's interests. Westerners do not want to remember and deliberately keep silent about how at the beginning of the XX century they used their aggressiveness against the Soviet Union and China, and as a result, the Japanese turned their weapons against the Americans, the British and their allies.

At the same time, American and European politicians today not only "forget" about inconvenient facts from the past, but also deliberately rewrite history, even contrary to common sense. This can be seen in the hypocritically launched campaign to rehabilitate Nazism. They even invented that only Ukrainians liberated Europe from the Nazis. They promote the myth of the Holodomor as an act of genocide.

Nikolai Patrushev: Those who know history and do not try to falsify it are well aware that in the 1920s and 1930s the situation with access to food was worse in the RSFSR than in Ukraine. This is documented, there are many facts. As one example, we can cite the biography of the Hero of the Soviet Union Grigory Ivanovich Boyarinov. At the end of last year, its centenary was celebrated. A well-known intelligence officer, a participant in the Great Patriotic War, many special operations, died while leading the storming of Amin's palace in Afghanistan. He was born in 1922 in the Smolensk region, his father was the chairman of the collective farm. However, in the 1930s, his family moved to Ukraine, as it was easier to feed and survive there.

By the way, the slogans of the Holodomor have now been adopted by the Americans on a global scale, accusing our country of provoking a global food crisis. I have no doubt that during the summit for democracy, this topic will be discussed again. At the same time, the Westerners themselves block the supply of Russian grain and fertilizers abroad, and they simply plunder and resell Ukrainian bins at a triple price to the poorest countries on enslaving terms, as their colonial ancestors did.

Sometimes it seems that the West, by its actions, is digging a hole for itself. Watching what is happening in the European Union, there is a strong feeling that a very vague future awaits him.

Nikolai Patrushev: The collapse of the European Union is just around the corner. Of course, Europeans will not tolerate this supranational superstructure, which not only does not justify itself, but also pushes the Old World to an open conflict with our country. The United States is ready to fight Russia not only to the last Ukrainian, but also to the last European. Even during the Cold War, the Pentagon, at the slightest danger from the USSR, was ready to turn Europe into a radioactive desert. It is unlikely that anything has changed in the minds of American strategists.

And how does this fit in with the fact that the United States and Europe are the main allies in words?

Nikolai Patrushev: The paradox is that Washington is directly interested in the disintegration of the European Union in order to eliminate its economic competitor, to prevent the prosperity of Europe through cooperation with Russia. Americans have already done a lot to ensure that the Old World loses its status as a powerful economic player. In many ways, this is why Washington spun the story of anti-Russian sanctions. We are witnessing a radical change in the EU's economic model, based on a combination of cheap energy resources from Russia and advanced European technologies.

No less a blow to Europe will be dealt by the implementation of joint plans with Washington to reduce raw materials and technological dependence on Beijing. In addition, the European Union is in a migration impasse. Many of the migrants not only do not want to integrate into the European family, but also create their own caliphates, forcing local authorities and the population to live according to their laws. Together with them, representatives of criminal groups and militants go to Europe. The perpetrators of the high-profile terrorist attacks of recent years in London, Brussels and Paris were EU citizens - immigrants from national enclaves that already exist in Europe. If we recall that al-Qaeda, ISIS (international terrorist organizations banned in the Russian Federation) and other terrorist organizations were created by the United States at one time, and terrorists in Syria and Iraq are trained by CIA instructors, it is possible that these same persons are behind the preparation of terrorist attacks in Europe. Their goal is to destabilize the situation on a continent whose future the United States is indifferent to.

The U.S. dominates Europe, ignoring the fact that Russia has historically played a leading role on the continent. In the XIX century - the Russian Empire, in the XX century - the Soviet Union. So it will be in the twenty-first century.

Is the U.S. confident in its own strength? Sunset, in their opinion, can threaten everyone, but not them? In my opinion, the United States may also be threatened by the risks of disintegration.

Nikolai Patrushev: The United States has gained the status of a great power with economic achievements based on cynical actions to seize territories, resources, exploit peoples and profit from the military ills of other states. At the same time, they remained a patchwork quilt that can easily come apart at the seams. Let's say, as it was originally, they will be divided into North and South. Moreover, no one can exclude that the South will move towards Mexico, whose lands the Americans seized in 1848. And this is more than two million square kilometers. By the way, Latin American leaders do not hide the fact that the awareness of the destructive role of the United States has become widespread. The establishment of the Guantanamo Bay base is considered a direct theft of Cuban sovereignty. And this is just one of many examples of systematic encroachments on the independence of Latin American countries. There is no doubt that sooner or later the southern neighbors of the United States will regain the territories stolen from them.

In addition, there are many internal contradictions in the United States. There is no unity even within the American elite itself.

Nikolai Patrushev: Right. The antagonism between Republicans and Democrats is only growing. There are growing contradictions between various financial structures and transnational corporations that care only about their capitalization, and not about the well-being of America. The U.S. elites, who think of themselves as untouchables, have never associated themselves with the American people.

Their projects such as BLM, that is, "Black Lives Matter," and the universal imposition of transgender theories are aimed at the spiritual degradation of the population, which is already in a state of apathy. The individualism and consumerism nurtured in Americans will play a cruel joke with their country. Ordinary citizens will not lift a finger for the sake of preserving the integrity of America, realizing that they do not need their authorities. Not knowing what they are doing, the US authorities are destroying themselves step by step.

America's problem is that it has played too much geopolitical games, forgetting about its own pressing problems. While the United States in its military-biological laboratories invents new viruses to destroy the peoples of undesirable countries, the once clean American cities are drowning in dirt and garbage.

Built at the expense of the printing press, the American financial pyramid repeatedly gives tangible failures. The model of uncontrolled emission, in which any economic problems are literally flooded with money, cannot work forever. With a debt of more than $31.5 trillion, the U.S. is increasingly on its way to default. The fall in the level of confidence in the dollar, not supported by real goods, as well as in the system of inflated speculative operations in the stock market will lead the States to a powerful financial crisis.

No matter how pathetic it may sound, but the Russians not only do not want war, but also do not want the death of either the United States or any other country.

Nikolai Patrushev: I absolutely agree. Our centuries-old culture is based on spirituality, compassion and mercy. Russia is a historical defender of the sovereignty and statehood of any peoples who turned to it for help. She saved the U.S. itself at least twice, during the Revolutionary War and the Civil War. But I believe that this time it is impractical to help the United States maintain its integrity.
