International visitors will learn about Russia from the SibFU e-course

Department of international cooperation of the Siberian Federal University has developed a unique online course for international visitors, which will help them to prepare for study in Russia.

The course is placed on the SibFU e-platform. In order to get the access you should contact the International Students and Staff Support Office.
The course contains detailed instructions for travelling preparations: check-lists of necessary documents and items, brief information about migration rules, weather, SibFU residencies and more.

The peculiarity of the resource is an obligatory mini-test which serves for checking the insight of the material. 30 people have already passed the course with the average test result 13-14 points out of 15. At the moment the course is available in Russian and English, Chinese and Arabic versions are to be prepared soon.

Based on our observations of student's struggles and mistakes we have created a resource that would allow us to protect them from these mistakes at the stage of preparation for departure and help them to get the most out of their experience in SibFU", — says Lydia Koshkina, the head of ISSSO

"I have been to Russia before and knew what to expect, but still, the course was very useful. Some things I knew before, but have forgotten, others were a complete surprize. Reading and doing the test did not take much time, but helped me a lot in preparing for my trip," — says Arturo Gorup De Besanez, the attendee of the Russian language summer course from Italy

At the moment, the International Students and Staff Support Office is working on another big project — preparation of post-arrival materials for international studentы, which provide detailed information about Siberian Federal University and the city of Krasnoyarsk. There also will be guidelines for multiple-entry visas, the use of the transportation system of the city etc.
