Our love for technology doesn't stand in the way of our passion for creativity. The atmosphere for this is found in VK headquarters, located in Singer House — one of the most beautiful buildings in Saint Petersburg.
A great amount of writers, musicians, photographers and artists publish their work on the pages of VK. For the ten-year anniversary of the website, we received a wonderful gift from Tatyana Shashkina, who created a 2x3m oil painting "VK Space" depicting the famous Singer dome.
The artist shared her thoughts, "Space for me represents endless possibilities that creativity opens. In life, VK is such a symbol. Each day, thousands share their masterpieces on the social network, but there are many talented people who are waiting to realize their potential."
Tatyana's example inspired our team, and in June we launched the artistic competition in the community VK Spies. Concepts for the paintings could be about anything associated with VK such as the headquarters in Singer House, the VK logo or beloved sticker characters. After receiving hundreds of works, it is our pleasure to share many vibrant paintings with you. They will decorate the walls of our headquarters and inspire new ideas.

"Despite the rapid growth of technology and extensive range of opportunities, I believe communication is the most important part of VK! This picture is dedicated to all the people I see in the 'Friends' section. In the center, I painted a slightly modified VK logo to serve as an indicator of what unites us."
Katya Arkhipova
"I was inspired to create this work by thinking how great it is to have friends in different parts of the world. VK makes this communication comfortable and affordable by adding a variety of innovative functions: photos, videos, stickers, voice messages and more."
Alexander Kuznetsov
"While creating this doodle, I was inspired by the works of the well-known artist Vince Okerman, who is better known as Vexx (VexxArt). In my work, I combined VK's famous logo with popular stickers. After all, thanks to stickers, we can easily express our emotions. If my calculations are correct, there are 64 stickers in this doodle."
Varvara Timchenko
"Sticker characters done up as popular superheroes. Don't worry about safety! These guys will stand guard over your good mood."
Konstantin Brilevsky
"This work is how I see VK. The picture portrays my extraordinary sloth 'Free from Worries', for which the birthplace was the social network VK. In the picture, a sloth is just waking up and while still in the process of stretching, he immediately checks out his favorite website. In the window, the silhouettes of Singer House can be seen.
The picture's concept is that VK plays an integral part of all our lives."
Lissa Renard
"In our lives, social networks are very important and each one is different. This makes each a separate, complete world that is fabulous, magical and special. VK is a fairytale castle floating somewhere high above the meadows and mountains, and with the help of fluffy, white clouds, the castle slowly and majestically emerges."
Ksyusha Cherotchenko
"Saint Petersburg, as usual, is embraced by water while the trees planted many years ago are already familiar to the eye. And once again, someone is staying up late in the dome."
Ksenia Bliznyuk
"VK gives a lot of opportunities such as viewing photos and videos, reading news and listening to popular music. But the most important thing is the ability to communicate with friends even from long distance. Sticker heroes brighten our conversations by helping convey the right emotions. Also, it's impossible to ignore Singer House company headquarters, the place where ideas are born and opportunities realized."
Ivan Marchenkov
"For me, VK epitomizes something impossible, where every day a team of talented people represents numerous ideas. VK headquarters is the embodiment of this, where miracles are performed just like in Hogwarts. I wanted to depict the magnificent architectural work on paper through watercolors.
P.S. I have never been to Saint Petersburg so I had to create the picture from photographs. I hope you enjoy it."
Mila Rudakova
"For me, VK is communication. Stickers help express emotions, even if they are very ambiguous and multi-layered. In this picture, I drew the characters from my favorite sticker packs as well as Singer House, where everything comes into being. The background deserves special attention. A simple white canvas was not enough for me, so I applied a thick paste to add texture to serve as a reminder that all feelings have a 'background' that is no less important than the figures on it."
VK always tends to provide the best conditions for talented people and their art, the opportunity to be known and become popular. We will talk about it in the nearest future.
And one more thing, we are currently looking for talented illustrators who could make drawings for our official blog and communities. If you've seen brilliant and remarkable works in your feed, please share the links to these artist profiles with us.
