From the 20th to the 22nd of October, VK will host one of the largest hackathons in Russia. The Hackathone is a contest for developers, designers and other specialists in the field of Information Technology. 100 teams will take part in this competition in which they have 40 hours to solve a task regarding one of the following areas: media, financial technology, culture, charity or technological infrastructure. The overall prize fund is 1 million rubles.

Projects created during previous Hackathons have been successfully included on VK. Some of them can be found in the official catalog of community apps. These applications allow people interact with community followers in the chat, sign up for interesting mailing lists and easily view relevant job vacancies.

This year, famous brands joined the event, including UNESCO, Tinkoff Bank, Selectel, Takie Dela, CAF Fund, Bolshoi Theatre and the State Tretyakov Gallery. Together with VK, they mentor participants, suggest tasks while providing API access and evaluating work.
